Outlook 2016 public folder not updating

STATUS: FIXED Fix and workaround steps for this issue can be found in the following article: Outlook unexpectedly stops prompting and automatically sends Meeting updates to all attendees Last Updated: March 23, 2018 ISSUE For some users after updating to 16.0.9001.2171 and later versions, Outlook search returns no search results for POP and IMAP accounts.

STATUS: WORKAROUND Until a fix or resolution is determined you can work around the issue by disabling Windows Desktop Search which will cause Outlook to use it's built in search.

If you review the item in the Sent Items folder it shows the old location and was not updated.

STATUS: FIXED This issue is fixed by a change in the service.

To fix this issue, you also need to add a registry key. If you change the protocol between the MAPI over HTTP and RPC, the primary mailbox isn't displayed.

A number of MAPI over HTTP issues are resolved, including problems with Outlook crashing, email attachments are corrupted during the download, public folders won't open and display the following error message: e Cannot display the folder.

Restarting Outlook should fix the issue but you may have to restart Outlook up to three times to pick up the change.

STATUS: WORKAROUND Until a fix is available, you can use Outlook Web App (OWA) to schedule the meeting as a workaround or you can ask the user with Working Elsewhere availability to switch it to Free or Busy.

Try closing messages you have opened or removing attachments and images from unsent messages you are composing.
