Play xbox 360 games without updating dashboard

Now all you have to do is take the USB stick over to your Xbox console, plug it in and then turn on the console. Then just pop the disc into your Xbox console and the update will start automatically. This method is useful if you have no access to the Internet.I can still play games by going to the home menu and selecting them, but can't do anything involving the dashboard. Basically anything that navigates away from the dashboard, causing the dashboard to have to load when you exit it, will cause the dashboard to properly load when this happens. This was a widely known and reported problem during the beta test for the current dashboard, which was 8 months ago, and it still hasn't been fixed, like a number of other issues that were reported during the beta.Curiously, my dashboard loads fine if I don't log into an account. Load any game/demo/arcade title from the ''My games'' tab, using the guide button. Almost makes it feel like being in the beta was pointless, except for early access to IE and Happy Wars, and getting 40 Happy Tickets for Happy Wars for playing it during the pre-release (1 week before the new dash/Happy Wars went public). If you have any problems, post a comment here and I will try to help. That way XBL wouldn’t pester you to update your games to the latest version.

I am close to my data cap for my internet and dragon age just released a 2GB update.

Also, make sure it’s formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS.

Next download the latest update for the Xbox from here.

Looking through the patch notes I don't see much reason to get this as it wouldn't affect me too much.

I tried just declining the update and playing but it won't let me unless I update.
