Word is updating the table of contents

Note: The algorithm tries reconstruct a spelling for the new word after generating its pronunciation, and sometimes this spelling isn't quite right.

If you're able to read IPA you'll find a more accurate pronunciation in the "Pronunciation" column on the right.

For example, enter "giraffe" and you'll get back words like "gazellephant" and "gorilldebeest".

Enter "south america" and "chess" and you'll get back words like "checkuador". It uses the Datamuse API to find related words, and then finds combinations of these words that pair well together phonetically.

At this time there are only administrative differences between this version and the adopted version.

Microsoft Word versions up to Word 97 used a different format from Microsoft Word 97 – 2003.

In Microsoft Word 2007 and later, the binary file format was replaced as the default format by the Office Open XML format, though Microsoft Word can still produce DOC files. Other word processors, such as Open Writer, IBM Lotus Symphony, Apple Pages and Abi Word, can also create and read DOC files, although with some limitations.
